Best Lesson Ever!

I am so pleased with the outcome of this lesson.  It took a long time to complete, but the end results are worth it.  The 3rd graders really worked hard on their observational drawing before starting to collage.  I really focused on the sunflower itself, how BIG the petals are and the shape of them.  The drawings led to some amazing collages!

I bought these Christmas ornaments at the craft store for 1$ each. 

This lesson was perfect for my special needs class consisting of 4 severe autistic students.  Their parents loved them too!

Shading Pumpkins

I love my second graders..they are so creative! This lesson was really fun to teach. We talked about shading and making things look 3-D. 3-D is so easy to talk about now because all the kids have seen 3-D movies! So, they really understand the idea of making thinks look like they are coming out of the page.
